UPDATE: After Jesse’s investigation aired, our team heard from Matthew. Premera has now updated his information, allowing him to pay his premiums, and the company has reached out to his medical providers to process his bills.
In January, KIRO 7 started hearing from patients struggling with problems with Lifewise Health Plan of Washington, from not being able to pay their bills, to issues confirming coverage. An investigation revealed much deeper problems with back-end software that impacted thousands of customers with Lifewise, and with parent company Premera Blue Cross.
