Jesse investigates job posting scam

It was supposed to be a simple job search for a South Sound woman.

What it turned out to be was a nationwide scam that snared two legitimate businesses, two law firms, and a charity based in New York City.

We’re told law enforcement is involved and it’s being carried out through one of the world’s largest employment websites.

KIRO 7’s Jesse Jones combed through local, state and federal documents and got to the bottom of what annoys many job seekers, fake and fraudulent job postings in the video above.

What Jesse is investigating is not your ordinary job scam. This is a “triple threat” which includes attempted identity theft, a check scheme and fraud for the legit business owners who have their good names dragged through this scheme.
