COBB COUNTY, Ga. – A local woman says she became an easy target when someone tried to scam her as she searched for her missing dog.
Christine Burcham says her pekinese named Pebbles disappeared earlier this month from her Paulding County home.
She posted signs offering a reward for the dog’s return.
Burcham said a man called her saying his daughter found the dog, so she set up a meeting at a CVS.
She said the man had other demands.
“You ask for a PayPal my cash card and then I’ll give you a second address,” Burcham said.
Burcham said she called police and demanded the caller text her a picture of Pebbles.
She said she never got a response.
