Woman ends cancer treatment, heads to Silverwood Theme Park

A 23-year-old woman who ditched her cancer treatments to spend more time with family is planning a trip to Idaho’s Silverwood Theme Park.

Miranda Myers’ family started a GoFundMe page earlier this year, hoping to raise $15,000 to help fund a trip to Disneyland as a family.

Myers was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma a little over two years ago. Doctors gave her nine months to a year to live after she quit her treatments in June.

She told her family that instead of treatments, she wanted to spend her remaining months with her family doing things she’s never had the chance to do, such as visiting Disneyland.

In addition to their GoFundMe page, the members of her family said they hosted a donations garage sale. Combined, the family’s efforts raised roughly $6,225 — about $8,700 less than the estimated $15,000 they needed to fund a trip to Disneyland.

But Miranda Myers and her family are making the most out of what they have.

Myers’ sister, Bobbilynn Breland, said their family will be visiting Silverwood on Aug. 2 through Aug. 6.
