A Florida woman is accused of scamming thousands of dollars’ worth of lottery tickets from a supermarket, police said.

Teresa Blanco, 41, of Little Torch, is accused of taking $25 scratch-off tickets after only paying for tickets worth $2 and $5, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials at the Big Pine Winn-Dixie where Blanco works became suspicious that someone was stealing from the store when they noticed a $13,786 shortage while conducting a lotto inventory.

A Winn-Dixie official told a sheriff’s office detective that surveillance footage identified Blanco as the suspect.

When confronted with the video, Blanco admitted to stealing $10,000 worth of lottery tickets. She was arrested and charged with grand theft.
