BOSTON – Before parents head to the stores with their children’s Christmas lists, they will want to see which toys safety watchdogs advise avoiding  this year.

World Against Toys Causing Harm Inc., or W.A.T.C.H., announced its list of the 10 worst toys of 2016.

The group used a handful of qualifiers to make up the list including what it called “inconsistent warnings and age recommendations.”

1. Peppa Pig’s Muddy Puddles Family

The toy set is for ages 2+ or 3+ depending on package. W.A.T.C.H. pointed out that the age recommendations were inconsistent and that there were potential choking injuries.
2. Kids Time Baby Children’s Elephant Pillow
The pillow can be purchased on Amazon, which warns that the pillow is for children greater than 3 years old and grownups and that if used for an infant, adults should supervise. W.A.T.C.H. warns that the large pillow has a potential for suffocation.
3. Slimeball Slinge
The Slimeball Slinger has been sold on Amazon and at Toys R Us and is recommended for ages six and older. W.A.T.C.H. says the toy could have a potential for eye injuries with ammunition that can be thrown more than 30 feet.
4. Banzai Bump N’ Bounce Body Bumper
Sold on Amazon, Ebay, Sears and at Walmart, the Bump N’ Bounce Body Bumpers are made for ages 4 to 12. W.A.T.C.H. warns of potential impact injuries. 6. The Good Dinosaur Galloping Butch
Made for children 3 and over and sold at Amazon, Walmart and Toys R Us, The Good Dinosaur Galloping Butch has a choking hazard as a warning on the packaging states, but W.A.T.C.H. says that there is also a potential for puncture wound injuries because Butch has a rigid, pointed tail.
7. Peppy Pups
Peppy Pups are for children ages 2 and older. The dog comes with a cord that is 31 inches long, more than double the length recommended for pull toys.
8. Flying Heroes Superman Launcher
