Toyota is recalling about 744,000 model year 2011 to 2016 Toyota Sienna vehicles in the United States due to a problem with the sliding doors, the automaker announced Tuesday.
Toyota recall: What you need to know
According to a news release, when the sliding door is “impeded,” a motion circuit could be overloaded, opening the fuse for the motor.
“If this occurs when the door latch is in an unlatched position, the door could open while driving, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant,” Toyota said.
There’s no word whether there have been any injuries or deaths as a result of the issue.
The automaker is working on a fix for the condition. Owners will be notified by mail by the middle of January.
