Senator Cantwell is calling on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to investigate Office Depot for reports it is selling unnecessary computer fixes.
In a letter to FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramierz, Senator Cantwell addresses that many Office Depot stores in Washington state and other U.S. cities are offering “free computer scans” that indicate inaccurate results of showing symptoms of malware.
In her statements, Senator Cantwell states –
“Kids need computers for their school work; families need computers to keep track of their finances; small business owners need computers to run their enterprises. They are the gateway to which we live our lives.”
Tonight at 5pm, Jesse will have the latest on Office Depot’s decision to suspend its free PC Health Check.
