Samsung temporarily stops production of Galaxy Note 7

Samsung has temporarily stopped production of the Galaxy Note 7, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The announcement comes amidst the company’s efforts to juggle a recall of 2.5 million smartphones after reports of the devices overheating and catching fire.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung issued a statement today saying it was “temporarily adjusting the Galaxy Note 7 production schedule in order to take further steps to ensure quality and safety matters.”

Samsung has not confirmed reports of problems with its devices but says it’s working with authorities including the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
