Puget Sound shipyard seeks to hire 900 civilians


The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Bremerton has 900 civilian jobs available, according to The News Tribune.

Interested candidates have until 8:59 p.m. Friday to apply.

Successful candidates will be hired at a grade of WG-1 with a starting pay rate of $16.07 an hour and will be given promotion opportunities, according to The News Tribune.

A benefits package is provided to new employees that includes health insurance, a retirement plan, on-the job training, paid sick leave and vacation time.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens and be able to pass security and physical fitness requirements, according to The News Tribune.
