Nearly 60,000 pounds of chicken salad recalled


Three Ready Pac Foods Inc., has recalled approximately 59,225 pounds of its chicken salad after discovering that the cheese used in the salad was part of the Deutsch Kase Haus recall based on possible listeria contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The recalled product is the Puro Picante Blazin’ Hot Salad. The affected product subject to recall is the 7.5 ounce single-serve salad bowl packaged between Jan. 17, 2017, and Feb. 17, 2017, and has “Used By” dates between Jan. 31, 2017, and March 4, 2017. (View Label)

Anyone who consumes the product might experience fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, loss of balance and diarrhea. However, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions because of consumption of the product, according to USDA.

Consumers who have purchased this product should not consume and should be thrown away or returned to place of purchase.
