Job alert: U-Haul is hiring seasonal at-home workers


Are you looking for a summer gig? U-Haul announced it’s hiring temporary remote workers for the summer.

According to the job listing posted on the moving company’s website on Tuesday, U-Haul will be hiring sales agents for eight to 14 weeks (May-August).

Seasonal center sales-reservation agents will assist customers with rental inquiries, as well as make reservations in the comfort of their own homes.

Employees will earn $10 an hour plus bonuses. The moving company says this is also an opportunity for high school students. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age, and either currently in school or have earned a high school diploma or GED.


Here’s a list of further requirements, according to U-Haul’s job posting:

  • Work-at-home positions require a quiet, private work area.
  • Team members working from home must also supply and maintain a USB headset, broadband/high-speed internet and a PC or laptop with Windows 7, 8 or 10.
  • No separate phone line is required. Wi-Fi or wireless internet service is not allowed.
  • Internet speed and PC or laptop must meet minimum requirements. Minimum RAM required is 4G, and 8G is recommended, with 5GB hard disc space available (or greater). Processor: Core i3, equivalent or higher.

Sales agents may be scheduled to work Sunday to Saturday, 6 a.m.- 5 p.m.; however, the hours may change based on business needs.
