Our investigation revealed the Good to Go system has been charging drivers after its 7 p.m. cutoff time.
The inaccurate tolling has been going on since March on the I-405 Express Lanes – and 2,000 charges have been done incorrectly.
As a result of the investigation, the state is now issuing immediate refunds.
Good to Go has charged 2,000 to commuters using the I-405 Express Lanes since March.
Patty Rubstello who runs the tolling program for Good to Go says there was a communication error between the WSDOT server and its roadside vendor who manages the signs.
The signs were still showing a toll when they should have displayed that they were open to all.
