AG Ferguson takes action after state investigation reveals sushi restaurants mislabeled fish

The Washington State Attorney General’s Office says its investigation found Seattle-area sushi restaurants selling mislabeled fish.

The Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division says it sent testers into multiple sushi restaurants in the area to see if customers were getting the species of fish they ordered.

“Consumers think they’re getting one fish when they’re really getting something different, and sometimes there’s a big difference in price,” Attorney Shannon Smith explained.

Wednesday at 5 p.m. on KIRO 7 News, Jesse Jones shows the steps the Attorney General is taking to make sure consumers are getting the sushi they pay for. Watch with us on TV or online here
